  • Weekly Lessons

Students are consistently encouraged to achieve high standards of technical excellence and musicianship. In-depth study of repertoire, combined with monthly themes (rhythm, aural skills, history, etc.), result in vibrant and inspiring piano lessons.

Younger students engage in off-bench activities every week to encourage whole-body involvement, in-depth study of musical concepts, and learning through play.

Older students dig deeper into the study of piano technique, stylistic elements, and theory and harmony concepts.

A main tenet of our studio is to develop piano ensemble and collaborative skills. All students frequently work together with either their teacher or a peer on ensemble repertoire to be shared at one of our studio recitals.

  • Group Classes & Masterclasses

Students have the opportunity to attend three group classes / masterclasses throughout the year. Beginner and intermediate group classes foster community, create low-stress performance opportunities, and are chances for students to engage with theory concepts as a group.

Advanced students participate in three masterclasses. Guest clinicians may be invited and students are able to engage in deep learning while they listen to each other and discuss repertoire in a safe, supportive environment.

  • Recitals

Our studio hosts 1 informal and 2 formal recitals every year.

Our Christmas House Concerts have been a hit since their inception _____ years ago. We gather in Leanne’s home for an evening of piano music and treats; families are able to meet each other and students are able to perform for a larger group in a low-stress environment.

Our Winter and Spring Recitals take place in a beautiful church venue with a gorgeous Yamaha grand piano. These recitals typically include a wide variety of piano ensembles in addition to each student’s solo performance.

  • Piano Pedagogy

Advanced students within the studio are invited to consider joining the Piano Pedagogy Group. Led by Leanne, student teachers meet monthly to discuss teaching strategies, repertoire, and business practices. They have full access to Leanne’s substantial library of repertoire, teaching games, and studio resources. Student teachers also help plan and lead group classes and recitals.

Students who study with Leanne’s student teachers are able to participate in all studio events (group classes, recitals, etc.).
